Over the last year, I have been exploring ways to connect my enamel pieces together. I have soldered some in the past and although I like the effects I can create with soldered connections...my all time favorite connection technique is riveting. Even before I started enameling, I have always loved the look of rivets and jewelry...they add that little extra detail that really speaks to me! Riveting enameled pieces can be more challenging due to the nature of enamel surfaces. Recently, I have been working on honing my riveting skills... striving for just the right amount of strength to create a strong joint, but not so strong as to damage the enamel. With the use of tiny washers and the different colored metal rivets, I am loving all the creative possibilities that riveting has to offer...
